Project

The new high-speed station “Porta de Galicia” is located in the area of A Gudiña (Ourense) on the Madrid-Galicia high-speed line, which serves long-distance UIC gauge services.

The proposed design integrates the construction into the steep slope created by the platform. The main volume is the passenger building with a large space that houses the vestibule. The passenger service is located in the staff offices, ticket sales and toilets. The construction ends with a separate volume for the installations and storage areas.

In addition to the passenger building, the project includes the following actions: the formation of platforms, the construction of canopies over them, the fitting out of the platform access subway with the vertical communication elements (stairs and ramp), the parking and the exterior urbanisation and the connection with the access road to the station from the OU – 533 road junction.

Access to platforms is via tunderpass at the end of which there is an adapted staircase and ramp. The infrastructure has been designed prioritising the principles of sustainability and energy efficiency.
